From Vision to Reality
Mara Coffee & Roasters was founded on a simple observation: Bangalore deserved a different kind of coffee experience. Not just a transaction, but a gathering place. Not just caffeine, but culture. Not just convenience, but intention.
Naveen Shetty saw that the specialty coffee movement happening in Seattle, Portland, and Melbourne had never truly arrived in Bangalore. More importantly, he saw that it didn’t have to be exclusive or elitist. Coffee could be excellent AND welcoming. It could be sophisticated AND humble.
So Mara was born—not from a business plan, but from a belief that quality and community aren’t mutually exclusive. They’re essential partners in creating spaces where people feel at home.

Our Coffee Philosophy
Coffee With a Story
We believe that every cup of coffee tells a story. It’s the story of the farmer who grew the beans. The processor who fermented them. The roaster who brought out their character. The barista who crafted it.
And finally, you—the person who drinks it.
Coffee has over 900 aromatic and chemical compounds. Wine has 300-400. It’s one of the most complex foods humans consume. Every brewing method, every temperature, every measurement changes the story. This is worth getting right.
We work with long-term coffee producing relationships. We source from farmers and estates that care deeply about quality. We roast to highlight the unique characteristics of each origin. And our team understands the entire journey—from seed to cup.
2023
The Beginning
Naveen Shetty founded Mara Coffee & Roasters with a vision to transform Bangalore's coffee culture. First events and tastings introduce the specialty coffee movement to Bangalore's community.
2024
Building the Team
Assembled a passionate team of coffee professionals, designers, and hospitality experts. Built the training program that emphasizes both craft and human connection.
2024
The Flagship Cafe
Opening the flagship Mara location at 578/A The Easy Street, Indiranagar. A 110-seat gathering space designed for work, connection, and exceptional coffee.
2026+
Community & Growth
Building Bangalore's specialty coffee community. Expanding to serve more neighborhoods while maintaining uncompromising standards. Creating the culture shift coffee deserves.

We chose HSR because it’s where Bangalore’s creative energy lives. Writers, entrepreneurs, artists, and builders come here to work on their craft. We wanted to create a space that serves this community—a place where good ideas grow over exceptional coffee.

Monday – Sunday: 7:00 AM – 8:00 PM
(Closed first Monday of each month for deep cleaning)
